Correct Power Institute

The Correct Power Institute GmbH (CPI) works in the field of energy management systems. To monitor the power supply of data processing centers worldwide the company is committed to VisiWin 7.

"With visualization, too, our customers wish for a modern graphic design that lives up to the current possibilities“, Dipl.-Ing. Bernd Steinkühler,  CPI's Director, describes his demands. By optimizing cooling systems, encasing of server racks, and demand-driven control of the incoming and exhaust air flows his company reduces the energy consumption of data processing centers drastically. For the fail-safe control of the cooling systems and the integration of temperature, humidity and flow sensors CPI uses highly available EtherCAT networks. On this basis all data of the climate control system as well as the energy supply can be gathered centrally.

CPI visualisiert Optimierungskonzepte für energieeffiziente Klimatisierung mit VisiWin 7

The clearly arranged and uncomplicated visualization of the cooling circuits and sensor values eases maintenance, and is an important tool to detect potential malfunctions in time, and avoid consequential damages.

The visualization is an important selling point.

With VisiWin 7 CPI develops visualizations that display data processing centers as spatial and true-to-detail 3D graphics. Parameters and sensor values are allocated to the appropriate devices in windows. With VisiWin 7 graphic interfaces can be created that are otherwise rather known in the domain of simulations or PC games. The tool uses Microsoft Expression Blend und Visual Studio as development environment, and fully integrates as the first visualization software Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), a graphic interface for the output of 2D and 3D graphics that bases on DirectX. That makes entirely new interface designs for visualization and SCADA applications possible: Facilities and process sequences can be emulated as models in animated vector graphics; the graphic display of technical components such as sensors or valves communicates through the direct connection to the process variable with the real conditions. "A visualization that allows the intuitive capture and manipulation of the operating parameters is an important selling point", Steinkühler explains. "Only with VisiWin 7 we can realize exactly the graphic operating interfaces that our customers demand from us.“
